13,00 20,00

Quercus infectoria is famous for the presence of so-called “galls” on the undersides of its leaves. These gall apples are produced by gall wasps and are enriched with tannins. They are used medicinally as antioxidants and for their antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. The acorns come from a November 2024 collection from Cyprus.

Description

Quercus infectoria subsp. veneris (Alleppo oak, Galleiche) originates from the eastern Mediterranean region and western Asia. The tree only grows about 6 meters high, often only 2 to 3 meters. It is very soil-tolerant, but can have major problems with frost (especially when young).

The acorns come from a November 2024 collection from Cyprus. The acorns are shipped in a bag with slightly moistened vermiculite.

It is recommended to store them in soil/sand in the refrigerator for about 4 weeks before planting. Please keep acorns away from small children (risk of ingestion).
